After over 30 years as a cornerstone professional learning event for educators in career and technical education, the Innovation, Learning, and Career Education (ILC) Conference is entering a temporary hiatus beginning in 2026 as part of a strategic realignment of professional development to better meet the evolving needs of Pennsylvania’s CTE community.
Instead, the Bureau will collaborate with the Education Resource Center at Penn State Greater Allegheny and other partners to launch a new, multi-faceted series of learning experiences targeting a variety of stakeholders in CTE and beyond.

Literacy and the Trades:
Making Literacy Work for Career and Technical Education (CTE)
September 30, 2026 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Multiple Locations (PaTTAN Central, East, and West)
This session empowers Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors to support student literacy by focusing on the language comprehension skills which are essential for helping students make meaning of complex technical texts, instructions, and workplace communication. Participants will explore practical, discipline-specific strategies to build students’ skills in ways that directly enhance their ability to understand and apply content in real-world career contexts.
By embedding these strategies into everyday instruction, CTE
educators will improve student engagement, comprehension, and readiness for both certification and the workforce. Offering 5 Act 48 hours.
PACTA Fall Workshops 2026

The Pennsylvania Association of Career and Technical Administrators is proud to announce its annual Workshop for Career and Technical Education. Workshops will focus on:
- Adult/Continuing Education Coordinators
- Facilities Directors
- Instructional Coaches
- School Counselors
- Business Administrators
The workshops will be held from 11:00 a.m. on October 1 to Noon on October 2 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center, State College.
NOTE: Workshops are open to all PACTA members.
